For those looking to have some late night, or early morning adult beverages -- while hopefully stay over in a hotel room -- the MGM Springfield will have you covered.

Masslive.com reports that the Springfield City Council approved a proposal to extend alcohol serving hours at the casino until 4 a.m. If you are planning to sit at the bar and consume those cocktails, you will not be able to do so. However, if you are "engaged in gaming", you will be able to take advantage of the extension.

Between 2 and 4 a.m., the beverages will be served in different cups. Alcohol sales will be prohibited between the hours of 4 and 8 a.m.

The MGM Springfield is scheduled to open in August in their Main Street, downtown location. It will boost 250 rooms, over 125,000 square feet of gaming floor, an outdoor dining and entertainment district, Top Golf, world class shops, state of the art spa and over 15 bars and restaurants.

Extended serving hours are great, as long as it is being done responsibly. Drinking until 4 a.m. and then trying to drive home to the Berkshires is never, ever a good idea.
