Every Wednesday at 8:30 Slater and I are joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.

Leo is this week's Pet of the Week. Leo is a Mastiff mix as his breed dictates, is an extra large guy. He's eight months old and is a beautiful light brindle color.

Leo came to the shelter because someone rescued him from a bad situation.  So his background is somewhat unknown by the kennel staff. He can be fearful at first, but is learning to gain trust. He would do best in an adult household as an only pet and someone with some experience with large breed dogs and dogs with some fearful tendencies, would be ideal, but certainly not required. He's learning to walk better on leash with an easy-walk harness, which can make large dogs easier to handle. He's partially house trained and could be fully trained with a little more time and practice.  Leo can be a bit physical for play, simply because he's a large puppy that doesn't know his own size or strength.
