One of Berkshire County's favorite holiday traditions is back for Thanksgiving 2019.

The 4th Annual FREE Thankful 5k Run/Walk will be held Thanksgiving morning at 8am at Berkshire Running Center in Downtown Pittsfield and this year will benefit the St. Joseph’s Food Pantry

Berkshire Running Center owners Shiobbean and Kent Lemme offer the free event to thank the community for their support of their family owned run specialty store and training center.  Each year they earmark a local charity to benefit from donations.  In addition to the monetary donation, this year they have teamed up with the staff at Dr. George’s Dentist practice to help them in their annual food drive.

While the run/walk is free, Thankful beanie hats (pictured below) are the fundraising component to the event. For each $20 purchase of one of the hats, one hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the St. Joseph’s Food Pantry.

There is no better way to start your Thanksgiving than to get some healthy exercise with your friends and family and help raise money for a much needed cause, the local food pantry. We made the event free so that it was easy for a whole family to take part, all the while doing something meaningful on this day of thanks
