If you're driving through Pittsfield this week, you'll want to plan ahead. The city has released its latest list of road work and construction updates.

Starting Sunday, May 11, crews will be raising structures on Scalise Drive, Meleca Avenue, Darlene Avenue, Kenwood Street, and Brunswick Street through the end of the week.

Milling work kicks off Monday, May 12, and runs through Thursday on several streets: Beacon Avenue, Bradford Street between Francis Avenue and Center Street, Crane Avenue from Unkament Park Drive to around 567 Crane Ave, Fairfield Street, the north side of Jones Avenue, and Churchill Street from Cascade Street to around 669 Churchill Street.

A few longer-term projects are also ongoing.

On East Street, crews are transferring utility cables from the north side of the road to new poles on the south side, between Woodlawn Avenue and the Merrill Road intersection. That work will require traffic stops of up to 10 minutes at a time. The city is asking drivers to find alternate routes when possible.

West Street continues to see structure and underground utility work. Drivers should slow down and consider alternate routes through that area.

On Fenn Street, Eversource is doing underground utility work between North Street and Allen Street. The westbound lane in that stretch remains closed, and the project is expected to last several more weeks.

Finally, sidewalk replacement is underway on Appleton Avenue between East Street and Dawes Avenue along the east side of the street. That work will also continue over the next several weeks.

All project schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.
