Smash-And-Grab Break-In Hits Quick Fix on North Street in Pittsfield
A Pittsfield electronics repair shop became the latest victim of a smash-and-grab burglary early Friday morning when a thieve(s) shattered the storefront window at Quick Fix, located at 555 North St.
Owner Tyler Alderman received a jarring wake-up call from his alarm company at 3:50 a.m. Friday, informing him that police were at his business responding to a confirmed break-in. When Alderman arrived at the scene, he found "boxes out in the vestibule and glass everywhere."
They broke in and stole some items
Alderman posted a video to social media showing the extent of the damage, his front window completely smashed with shattered glass covering the entrance.
In five and a half years of operating on North Street, this marks Quick Fix's first break-in. However, Alderman says the incident doesn't come as a complete surprise. "I've had issues with people in the past, and it's kind of how this area is now and unfortunately everybody knows it," he told me Friday afternoon.
Despite the setback, Alderman remains committed to serving his customers. Quick Fix has built a substantial clientele across all of Berkshire County, offering repairs for phones, laptops, tablets, electronics, and game consoles.
Alderman is currently seeking quotes from Martino Glass and Berkshire Plate Glass for the window repairs.
The Pittsfield Police Department is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities.
